Who doesn’t love a good old PB&J? When I was younger, it’s what I brought to school with me Every. Single. Day. Now, I eat salads, veggie burger sandwiches, or cauliflower gnocchi. Oh, so much has changed!

Just because I don’t eat PB&J’s for lunch anymore, however, does NOT mean I don’t crave them once in a while. Weirdly, though, I crave them for breakfast now instead of lunch. Does anyone else revolt at the idea of eating something sweet for lunch? Just me?

Anyways, back to the PB&J! A couple months ago, I started craving one like crazy. It was early in the morning, and I wanted to have something different for breakfast than my usual oats or pancakes.

I had seen the idea of homemade jam on instagram before, but never bothered trying it myself because it seemed like so much work. After making my own jam though, I never looked back! This jam requires just TWO ingredients, and takes less than TEN minutes to make.

Besides the amazing taste and texture of this jam, the best part is that it’s completely free of added sugars, has added omega-3s, and is a powerhouse of antioxidants! That’s so worth those ten minutes if you ask me.

My favorite way to eat this homemade jam is paired with crispy & crunchy toast, dairy-free yogurt, and a drizzle of almond butter! Talk about taking PB&J to the next level, ammiright?

The recipe calls for raspberries, but I’ve successfully created this jam with blueberries, strawberries, and blackberries! Also, the fruit can be fresh or frozen. There’s endless possibilities with this recipe, which is what makes it so awesome!

After you make this 2-ingredient chia jam, you’ll never buy store bought jam again!

This healthy chia jam requires just two simple ingredients, and is a breeze to make! Once you’ve tried it, you’ll never buy store-bought jam again!

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup raspberries (60g)

  • 1/2 tablespoon chia seeds (7g)

  1. Add all ingredients to a small saucepan and bring everything to a boil.

  2. Once the water starts bubbling, mash the berries with a fork.

  3. Continue to mash the berries until there are no more large chunks.

  4. Turn heat down to low and allow the mixture to simmer for 5-7 minutes, or until a jammy consistency is reached.

  5. Serve the jam warm (my favorite way!) or store in the refrigerator for up to five days.
